Mountain Gorillas and Primates, 13 days

Day 1:
An elephant in Murchison falls National Park. Starting with a panoramic drive northwest via the popular Luwero Triangle and Masindi town, make a stop over and have lunch at Masindi hotel. Continue to Murchison by way of Budongo forest, the western arm of the East African Rift Valley and Lake Albert.
Relax shortly at a situated site a top the spectacular fall where you can view the perfected beauty and wonder of the Nile as it compresses and squeezes itself for more than 1 kilometer wide down a 7-meter canyon. The 150-meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plane of spray. The best thing to ever happen to the Nile. Day 2:
A pair of crowned crested cranes in Murchison falls National park. After having a cup of tea, start on an early morning game drive on the northern bank where your guide will assist you to view elephants, lions, cape buffalo, rothchild?s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, boher reed bucks, hyenas and if you are chanced, leopards. Come back to the lodge for breakfast. Relax at the swimming pool side. After having lunch, you will go upstream by boat to the placid Victoria Nile and the base of the falls just tens of meters from the ?Devils Cauldron? There you can wonder at toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over the 17-kilometer stretch, you may also view elephants, waterbucks and Uganda kobs. This is also the home for several bird species, which include goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee-eaters, kingfishers, hornbills, cormorants and the uncommon shoebill stork.
After taking shots of the photogenic Murchison falls, you will come back for dinner and an overnight stay at luxury Paraa Uganda safaris lodge or Basic Red Chilli?s Camp or Sambiya River lodge.

Day 3:
We make sure that you move along with your packed breakfast plus lunch.
Drive through the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley on the Masindi-Hoima-Fort Portal road. This will be a whole day drive south through Hoima to Fort Portal, passing through large countryside and traditional homesteads and farms. Fort Portal is found in the shadow of the fabled ?Mountains of the moon?. Dinner and overnight will be at luxury Ndali safari lodge or mid range-Rwenzori View House found in Fort Portal or Basic-Kanyanchu ecological site preferably in a sky Tree House.

Day 4:
After having breakfast, we shall set to Kibale forest National Park, for primate seeing. The activity begins at 8:00am in the morning. A half-day track for chimps and other primates, which include phoestes, Red-colobuses, Blues, Red, tailed and grey cheeked mangabeys swinging through the dense forest and birds, butterflies and several tiny insects. The guide will give detailed explanations not only on primates, but also on all the forest?s fauna and flora, making sure that your walk is both informative and pleasurable. This walk is very good for seeing bird life and primates in close quarters. A tour to Bigodi swamp eco tourism site is surprising, as we shall meet rare and beautiful flora and fauna. Lunch can be organized from Kanyanchu Tourist centre or Fort Portal. Dinner and overnight will be at luxury Ndali safari lodge or mid range-Rwenzori View Guest House in Fort Portal or Basic-sky Tree House.

Day 5:
After taking early breakfast, continue to Queen Elizabeth national Park following the mystical Rwenzori mountain Range most of the journey. A game drive while travelling may be rewarded with sighting water bucks, elephants,, leopards, buffalos, hyenas and a diversity of antelope species. Reach early at Mweya safari lodge for lunch. After having lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes via possibly the highest gathering of hippos and several animals may be viewed drinking at the water?s edge. This launch cruise provides a wonderful platform for photography, bird seeing and game watching. The prolific bird life is colourful and very large, with well over 550 resident species.
Dinner and overnight will be at luxury-Mweya Uganda safari lodge or Jacana safari lodge, Hippo Camp or Basic Institute of ecology.

Day 6:
After having a cup of tea or coffee, with a packed breakfast set to Kyambura gorge for a forest walk, to search for the accustomed chimps, plus other primates.
Anticipate also to find the hyena, giant forest hog, and lion. The rangers will give you a walking stick is you wish to have it. After trekking, return to the lodge for lunch. After having lunch, go sight viewing around the crater lakes region set deep into the volcanic craters and baboon cliff is a marvellous unforgettable experience. Tour Lake Katwe to see local ways of mining salt as well. Evening game drive as you come back to the lodge.  You will have dinner plus overnight at luxury, Mweya safari lodge or Jacana safari lodge, Hippo camp or Basic Institute of ecology.

Day 7:
After having a cup of coffee, start on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi path and Queens mile in the park and anticipate to view lions, elephants, cape buffalo, warthogs, leopard, hyena, mangoes, waterbucks, kobs and lots of several small animals plus birds. After the game drive, continue to Bwindi through Maramagambo and Ishaka sector. As you drive on the road by way of Ishaka sector, animals like the waterbucks, elephant, antelopes, buffalo, kobs, can be viewed on the road. Relax around the homestead and sight seeing to tour the local community of the Batwa and enjoy the local traditional dance. You will have dinner plus overnight at Lake Kitandara tented Camp or Basic at Buhoma community bandas.

Day 8:
There is an early morning entry into a gorilla sanctuary. The rainforest is spectacular as it provides a dramatic heavily forested and dense landscape crisscrossed by several animal trails, enabling access for tourists. Registered mammals in this place include; the endangered mountain gorilla, the scarce golden monkey, buffalo elephants, black fronted duikers, bushbucks, leopards, giant forest hogs together with other animals. This park is mostly famous for the interesting gorillas, where the time taken and terrain changes depending the movement of these wonderful primates. . Gorilla tracking : The thrill of spending time with and observing the gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting practice. The gorillas are shy and peaceful animals, at it is a memorable experience to see and photograph them as they come together. Dinner and overnight will be at Lake Kitandara tented camp or basic at Buhoma community bandas.

Day 9:
Have breakfast prior to starting a scenic journey to Rwanda via the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape. Drive passed the winding road and terraced landscape. Drive passed the winding road and terraced landscape and get to Kisoro for lunch and then continue to Uganda/Rwanda limit and traverse to Rwanda. Dinner and night stay will be at High and Gorilla nest Camp or Kinigi Guest House.

Day 10:
Rise up is early in the morning. You will be early for instructions and information prior to beginning the guerrilla trekking at 9:00am in the morning. When you are through with tracking, drive to Kabale at 9:00am in the morning. When you are through with tracking, drive to Kabale for your dinner and overnight.

Day 11:
After having an early breakfast, you set to Lake Mburo National park. Lunch on the way and enter the park through the Nshara gate. Candlelit dinner and first class service at the Mantana tented camp all under canvas ad in the heart of the African Bush underneath the star lit African sky or drive to Mbarara for Agip Motel, or basic at Rwonyo rest camp.

Day 12:
The morning game drive will take you along the lakeshore path, and with its own system of game trails and cleared walkways, the ?Kigambara loop? provides fascinating guided lakeside walks. At this place you can meet groups of zebra, cape buffalo and eland and pribi and topi are easy to approach. On the game drive, several tourists also enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo and self-guided nature trails.
Bird lovers will enjoy over 250 species of birds found in Lake Mburo, which include papyrus Gonolek, Brown-faced lapwings, carruthers astiocolas, the unique white winged warbler and Bare-faced Go w-way bird.

After having lunch, then head to Uganda?s capital, making a stopover at the Mpigi Royal drum makers. At this place you will be in position to see the ceremonial drums being made using methods passed from generation to generation.
You will also have time to stop at the equator to have photos and you will get to Kampala by early evening. You will have dinner at Hotel Africana or Speke Hotel in Kampala.

Day 13:
After having breakfast, set to Jinja where the source of the River Nile is, s it starts its way to Mediterranean Sea. You will be in position to enjoy the Bujagali falls. After early lunch, be taken to Entebbe airport to have your flight.

Note should be taken that there are two kinds of safaris, some opt for luxury safari (lodges or hotels) and others opt for Budget safaris (camping and simple accommodation).
