Gorilla Tour, Chimpanzee, Wildlife and Rafting  (8 Days)


Day 1: Airport Transfer

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport on your  flight   will be met by Travel Hemispheres representative who doubles as your driver and guide, will drive you to Kampala city. To your hotel for overnight at Sheraton Hotel an upmarket end facility  .

Day  2: Kampala – Fort Portal/Kibale Forest National Park

Morning after breakfast will be driven to Fort Portal with a stop for lunch. Drive in one of the remotest parts of this country enjoying different forest environment and other savannah woodland vegetation plus communities along the road stop where you find local market to mix briefly with local people. Overnight will be at Fort Portal or continue to Kibale National Park where you will settle in at  luxury  Primate Lodge. Dinner and overnight .

Day3: Kibale Forest National Park  -

After breakfast visit Kanyanchu the park headquarter offices for your chimpanzee tracking  where you will see   other primates like the colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys plus other primates that share this forest with chimpanzees. The park also hosts over 320 species of birds including the yellow spotted nectar, yellow rumped tinker birds etc. It also has colorful butterflies; over 250 species have been spotted. For nature lovers, the dense forest is still intact you can see trees of different species. Track chimps in their natural habitat. Kibale Forest National Park is believed to have most concentration of primates in the world. Over 12 different species of primates including chimps in this park have been recorded. Enjoy a lot plant life with tall tropical tree species.

 Afternoon  drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. Lunch packed or will be at  the lodge before proceeding to drive to Kasese town. Drive along the foot of Mountain Rwenzori and on clear days enjoys its nice ice peaks that remain wonder on equator line. Stop for communities along the road stop where you find local market to mix briefly with local people. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari Lodge up end lodge.

Day 4:  Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early Breakfast in the morning, carryout game drive to catch-up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. You are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas and leopards, bushbuck, waterbuck and stripped jackal, and of-course the several warthogs.

After lunch take boat cruise on Kazinga channel connecting lake George and Lake Edward viewing different game lion, elephant, buffalo and many more plus plenty of birdlife. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day5:
Queen Elizabeth –  Ishasha - Bwindi
After breakfast you will   drive Kyambura gorge  to track chimpanzees . After picnic lunch drive to Ishasha  in to the southern sector of queen Elizabeth national park. If time allows can take   game drive looking for climbing lions as you continue and leaving this interesting part of the country to Another fascinating one of Bwindi the home of gorillas. Dinner and overnight  Kitandara  Lodge Camp.

Day 6:
Gorilla tracking  Bwindi forest national park
This will be day for gorilla tracking. After breakfast with packed lunch, you will be escorted to the starting point of tracking for briefing. Set off early with your guides to track the gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous track. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park
is often wet. Spend time in awe, watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each encounter is different and has it’s own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. Return to camp exhilarated to relive the encounter with friends over a drink. Enjoy your dinner and spend the night at Kitandara Lodge  Camp

Day 7:
Bwindi - Kampala
After breakfast will proceed to Kampala. Our drive will  back to Kampala will go through  Masaka, stopping at the Equator crossing for memorable photo taking, Mpambire in Mpigi an art and craft center where drum making technology has been passed on from generation to generation. Stay night in Kampala at Sheraton Hotel .

 

Day 8:
 Day will be for Jinja or  white water rafting / Airport transfer

This day will be for visiting Jinja  for white water rafting . Morning will be picked by the rafting company from the Hotel joining other people booked for rafting and proceed to Jinja. Will carry 2 pairs of clothing : a t-shirt and a pair of shorts will be used while rafting. Then another pair of clothing to put on after rafting.

A sun scream may also be necessary to protect you from the sun rays. Lunch will be served on course. Then after rafting a barbeque will be served and then proceed back to Sheraton Hotel. Dinner, after will be driven to the airport for your homebound flight. End of Safari.

 

Pease note the safari cost will include:

  • all meals and accommodation
  • gorilla permit 1 per person
  • full time  safari driver/guides,
  • boat cruises in Queen Elizabeth
  • all park entry fees, game drives, boat/ launch trips,
  •  all the applicable Government Taxes.
  • 4x4 wheel drive vehicle with gas
  • Airport transfers.
  •  2 chimp permits per person –  Kyambura/Kibale
  • Drinking bottled water

Excluded are:

  • Drinks, your bar bills, phone calls, personal insurance and any other services of a personal nature like souvenirs tips and laundry etc.
