Murchison Falls National Park safari for 3 daysMurchison Falls National park gets its name from the Murchison falls where the great river Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and flows down to become a calm and peaceful river whose banks are crowded with hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The vegetation is characterized by savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife involves lions, leopards, chimpanzees, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kob, and several bird species including the rare shoebill stock.
DAY ONE:Depart from Kampala at 0800 hours. Drive via the Luwero triangle. Make a stop over at Masindi hotel to have breakfast. Continue to the park through Budongo forest on the western side of the Great Rift Valley in time to enjoy the wonderful falls where the Nile perfects its gorgeous falls concocts a deafening roar and rainbow in a spiral of the spray. Traverse the great River Nile by a ferry prior to returning to the nice comfort and service of Paraa Safari lodge or Red chillis camp.
DAY TWOTake breakfast, after which you will be taken to the northern sector of the park for game drive. Watch elephants, buffaloes, bushbucks, lions plus a diversity of bird species. After taking lunch, continue for a two-year launch cruise up to the substructure of the great Murchison falls where sinister water escapes from the narrow gorge, a chance to view the amazing hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river banks enabling a marvellous birding safari. Come back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY THREEAfter having breakfast, traverse the river back through Budongo forest and have lunch at Masindi hotel. Coma back to Kampala at will.
There is an optional activity of chimp tracking at Pabidi Budongo forest on the third day in the morning prior to setting off back to Kampala.
